MRF TYRES PARTNER WITH APRA UNTIL 2023

MRF Tyres and APRA Limited have officially announced their partnership for Seasons 2020 until 2023. As a result, the tyre make will be the naming rights sponsor for the APRA Category as well as being the official Tyre supplier for the series in New South Wales and Victoria

24th September 2019 – Tyre maker MRF Tyres have been announced as the naming rights sponsor and category tyre supplier for the Australian Pulsar Racing Association Limited (APRA)

With the last rounds in October (Victoria) and November (NSW) bringing the 2019 Championships to a close, APRA have confirmed their plans for the next four seasons announcing the MRF Tyres deal.

“It’s an immense pleasure and absolute enthusiasm to be part of APRA Pulsar series. MRF Tyres always believed in supporting grass root competition. It is the only way to develop motorsports in Australia. Pulsar Series always has more than 40 competitors at every round and it’s very exciting. It’s one of the best series for us (MRF Tyres) to be associated with. The entire team at MRF Tyres is excited about the partnership” said Vivek Ponnusamy, CEO, Mentor Tyres (official importer of MRF Tyres for Australia and New Zealand).

“MRF Tyres is involved in a number of motorsport categories all over the world. Locally we have seen what they have done for the Australian Rally Championship and Australian Production Cars. For us as a grass roots racing category to be aligned with a brand like MRF Tyres is fantastic. This is a huge step in the evolution of our category” said an APRA representative.

“to say we are beyond excited is an understatement, we can’t wait to team up and see where this takes us. Having a partner like MRF Tyres on board, in a four (4) year deal, means we can plan and make more strategic decisions around what is best for our members and other sponsors”

“many months of work has gone into negotiating and striking the deal, including a rigorous tyre testing program that saw our incumbent supplier pitted against two other brands, one of them being MRF. Both alternative tyres performed very well, the performance of the MRF tyre along with the commercial opportunity to align our category with the MRF Tyres brand made it a no brainer to move forward with. We wanted the opportunity to provide our members with competitive and cost-effective package for them to go racing with”

In addition, MRF Tyres are offering much more than just Sponsorship and a supply of Tyres. Track support was a critical factor when the deal was negotiated. The ability to have support available, for not only New South Wales competitors, but also for Victorian competitors was important. Social media support will help us extend the reach for our category not only in New South Wales and Victoria but also into new areas such as Queensland. A simple online system makes ordering tyres easy, a free fitment service at each APRA event makes it easy for their competitors.

“We are looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship that helps us secure an exciting future for our category”
